How To Improve Your English Vocabulary?
Hey student! In this English vocabulary post, I am going to show you between and among and the difference between these two words that many English learners confuse.
Basically, you use between to refer to things which are CLEARLY SEPARATED and among to talk about things which are NOT CLEARLY SEPARATED because they are part of a group or crowd or mass of objects
You will use between when naming DISTINCT INDIVIDUAL items. That means, it can be one, two, three or more objects as long as they are DISTINCT AND INDIVIDUAL ITEMS.
The negotiations between Germany, France, Portugal and Spain are going really well.
You will use among when the items you are talking about are PART OF A GROUP, but THEY ARE NOT SPECIFIC. 3 OR MORE must be involved.
The negotiations among the European countries went really well. They have finally reached an agreement.
